Homemade Hair Masks to Reduce Hair Fall
1. Banana, Coconut Oil & Honey Hair Mask.
Apart from being a tasty fruit, banana is also helpful in preventing hair loss and promotes hair growth as well. It contains nutrients, vitamins, and minerals that help in nourishing the scalp and also helps in repairing damaged hair. Coconut oil also helps in hair loss since it contains lauric acid which helps to bind the protein present in the hair, hence prevent hair breakage. Honey also contains minerals and vitamins which help to strengthen the hair follicles and thus prevents hair fall and thinning.
2 Bananas (ripe)
1 tablespoon Coconut Oil
1 tablespoon Honey.
Take the ripe bananas and mash them up with the help of a spoon or a fork in a bowl to form a paste. Add in the coconut oil and honey and mix well till it combines. Apply this on your hair and leave the mask on for about 30-40 minutes. Then, wash it off with lukewarm water following with a mild shampoo and conditioner.
2. Egg, Olive oil & Yogurt Hair Mask.
Eggs are rich in phosphorous, sulfur, vitamins, and proteins which are very helpful and amazing for healthy hair. The nutrients present in the eggs help in boosting the growth of hair and also prevent hair fall. The biotin in egg yolks helps moisturize and hydrate the hair and also improve the elasticity of the hair preventing it from breakage. Olive oil helps in moisturizing and strengthening the hair which helps prevent hair fall and also dandruff. Yogurt additionally also helps in getting rid of dandruff, making hair shine, and also reduce your hair fall.
6 tablespoons Yogurt
3 tablespoons Olive oil.
Take the yogurt in a bowl and add in the egg and olive oil to it and mix it all together till it combines to form a smooth paste. Now apply this mixture on the scalp and hair and leave it on for 12-15 minutes, you can also cover it up with the help of a shower cap. Then, rinse it off with warm water, further following with shampoo and conditioner.
3. Avocado Hair Mask.
Avocado is full of iron, vitamins, niacin, etc which help in boosting the growth of hair, especially vitamin B which is present in it. It locks the moisture in the hair and conditions the scalp and prevents hair fall.
1 ripe avocado
1 tablespoon Olive oil
1/2 cup Milk.
Take the avocado and cut it up and then add it to the blender. Add in the milk and olive and blend it all till it forms a smooth paste. Apply this mixture to the hair starting from roots till the ends of the hair. Leave it on for about 12- 15 minutes and then rinse it off with cool water.
4. Onion juice Hair Mask.
Onion juice is a well-known remedy we all have heard of to treat hair fall. Onions are rich sulfur which helps provides nourishment to the hair to help it grow as sulfur contains keratin which is an important protein for healthy hair. It is also full of antioxidants which further help in preventing hair fall and thinning.
All you need is one onion, first, grate it and extract the juice. Apply this juice all over your scalp and hair and leave it on for few minutes or even overnight covered with a shower cap. Then rinse it off with warm water and further using a mild shampoo.
5. Potato, Honey & Aloe vera Hair Mask.
Potato contains vitamins that help restore collagen which further helps in hair growth. Excess oil production on the scalp can also lead to hair fall, hence the potato that contains starch helps in getting rid of the excess oil in the scalp and hence boosting hair growth and preventing hair fall and hair breakage. Honey helps in strengthening the hair follicles and thus prevents hair fall and thinning. Aloe vera helps in increasing the blood circulation which helps boost hair growth. It also conditions and moisturizes the scalp which helps in preventing hair fall and hair breakage.
1 large Potato
2 tablespoons Honey
2 tablespoons Aloe vera gel.
Grate the potato and extract its juice. Take the potato juice in a bowl and add in the honey and aloe vera gel and mix it well till it is properly combined together. Apply the mixture on your hair and leave it on for about an hour or two and then rinse it off with warm water.
6. Green Tea Hair Mask.
Green tea is rich in a compound known as catechins which help in preventing hair fall and hair thinning. It also contains many other compounds like carotenoids, zinc, manganese, etc which all help in preventing hair fall and also to boost hair growth. It also helps in nourishing the scalp and get rid of dryness.
1 Egg yolk
2 tablespoons of Green tea.
Take the yolk in a bowl and whisk it up till it forms a froth, then add in the green tea and mix it. Apply this mixture to your hair and leave it on for about 30 minutes. Rinse it off with cool water following with shampoo.
7. Strawberry Hair Mask.
Strawberries contain antioxidants, folic acid, vitamin B5, vitamin B6, and vitamin C which both help in hair growth and prevent hair fall. Vitamin C deficiency can be the reason for dandruff, hair loss, and brittle hair.
1 tablespoon Almond/ Coconut oil.
Blend the strawberries in a mixer to form a paste. Take this paste in a bowl, then add in the almond or coconut oil and mix it well. Apply this mixture to the roots and all over the scalp and leave it on for about an hour. Rinse it off with cold water afterward then following with shampoo.
